Exam Anxiety –
Finding Trust, Preserving Inner Calm

Now the moment has arrived, the one you feared all along. For weeks and months you studied, knowledge was at your fingertips, easy to recall, alive in every detail. And now the word exam hangs over your head like a heavy sword – and inside, emptiness spreads. Answers to the simplest questions vanish as if blown away. You know them, they are within you – yet they feel locked in a vault of steel. The more you try to force the door open, the more the combination slips away, the lock turning further and further.
What is missing is the lightness with which you played through the material in past weeks. Imagine this heavy feeling as a small child inside you, eager to take responsibility. Gently take its hand and lead it to a corner where it can play. Tell it how precious it is, how much you value its wish to help – and that this task belongs to you, so it can now rest in peace and play.
Then recall a moment of pride and joy: a song you sang at a birthday, a gift you offered, a new shirt you wore with delight. Feel that energy. Take your notes back into your hands and look at the questions – does something shift? Perhaps it feels as if the vault is opening and the answers return, free to flow again.
Feelings and thoughts are often tied together like tangled threads. When you learn to step out of these knots, exam anxiety begins to dissolve. Trust in your own ability can grow, and the calm you long for finds its way back to you.
