Joy in the Light — when the body resists and the light swallows the resistance
The body resists. Again. And right now, when you should be hurrying. Time is pressing. That appointment, that commitment, that moment waiting for you — when the day takes on a shape it never asked you about, the body tenses with the very thought of it. Do you know this?
In moments like these, when resistance rises between what should be and what is — neither a new thought nor good advice helps. It seems rather as if everything you know, understand and do only reduces your freedom of movement further. The energy lands in frustration, in struggle, and the drive to push through takes the upper hand.
But is that healthy?
We know that such emotions have devastating effects on the hormonal system, the immune system and digestion. Many picture emotional eating as uncontrolled excess — yet the reality often looks different. These spirals reduce food intake to a minimum. People in such states eat more consciously and healthily than most, allow themselves little, and cut back consistently — and are judged for their weight all the same. The body gains weight even though it receives almost nothing. The hormonal system writes its own story, and that story has very little to do with discipline or willpower.
We know that struggle and frustration do us and those around us no good. It is obvious — and yet at the smallest demands we find ourselves in such spirals again. We register the entry clearly. We feel exactly how it begins. Only the way out is missing. Because "I don't want to get angry" works about as well as trying not to think about the pink elephant. The thought itself brings it into the room.
What if there were a different feeling available? One that carries the same force — only working in a completely different direction. Could a feeling arising from a different source actually change this moment?
Joy in the Light as frequency — anchoring in rather than fighting
Light stands in energy for frequencies, vibrations and possibilities. It is a frequency we can anchor into. Something that is already there before we begin searching for it.
From my own experience I know many such moments. Moments in which the energy first lands in frustration, in anger, in the struggle against resistance. And I also know the moment that follows. The shift. When the image of a light opens — bright, pure, without glare — and the resistance simply dissolves within it. Is swallowed, as if it had never held the substance it seemed to have in the frustration.
Joy in the Light is for me not a metaphor. It is a tangible energy field that is capable of taking the arguments away from the mind.
In one of my meditations this image opened itself to me. Vastness first. A greatness that opens as if space itself were breathing. And then her — a light figure surrounded by a vast, beautiful arc of feathers. Peacock feathers that lay like wings around a delicate body. Woven through with wave-like patterns, and every single eye of those feathers carried its own perspective, its own feeling — and together they formed a whole that moved beyond the mind's reach.
We often hear that there are no polarities in the universal field. For me they exist — only in the understanding of simultaneously. Like the eyes of a peacock feather, each carrying its own perspective, its own feeling — and all together bearing a truth larger than any single viewpoint.
Such images come to me carrying more information than I can receive in the moment. Much of it only reveals itself later. What I was able to grasp in that moment was the feeling of this energy — giving, connecting, a love that surpasses all earthly experience.
And then this energy spoke. Tender and loving — like a voice that speaks from the innermost centre. From a source in which the heart is held, and through which the heart can speak: I am you. You are me.
Such moments leave behind a truth that is beyond doubt. A quiet, complete recognition — and the feeling of a belonging that was always there.
The light that showed itself to me in this form is the connection to the all-one. To the source of the creator, to which everything is connected — and to which I also belong. This connection carries an energy and force that can only express itself through feeling. It can only be experienced.
Medial experiences — and what this has to do with Joy in the Light
Another source from which I draw is automatic writing. It feels like receiving a dictation. A question, a challenge — and then the words come. One after another. If I do not write word one, word two does not come. It is not a flow, it is a receiving.
What emerges is not instructions. The field decides nothing. It shows. It explains why a challenge shows itself the way it does. It describes what is. And from this understanding, what I can change opens up. The decision always remains in my hands. What should I do — that is a question that finds no answer there. Because the field does not give that answer.
When I am unhappy in a relationship with someone, the field shows me that person's relationship to me. An insight into why they react the way they do. It does not ask and does not ask for forgiveness. That is my decision. When I ask about the condition of a person who is ill, it shows me where it is worth placing my focus.
And it removes nothing that is still needed. If I want to remain in pain — because I depend on it, because I am not yet ready to let go — that is accepted. It can be eased. But the letting go itself needs the good feeling as its ground. And only I can prepare that ground.
In this understanding, the idea of punishment also dissolves. What we experience as punishment is a holding on — or a decision we made as energy beings for a particular experience. For ourselves, or as a gift for another's wish for experience.
That is hard to grasp when a family must care for a child with high support needs. And yet — how quickly, from the field of love and connection, is the decision made: I would like to have the experience of caring for you with love and devotion. To such a wish, the creator can only answer: So be it.
Dis-placed — and why that is not an insult
I am not the only one who has such experiences. In recent years more and more people are being gifted with such experiences. And I am aware that many see these accounts as complete nonsense. Some years ago I thought myself it was time for psychiatry. I understand that people who have never had these experiences themselves can only experience such ideas as crazy.
In a certain sense they are. Because they have shifted something within me. Dis-placed — moved, displaced, shifted.
And does the same not happen in standard psychiatric treatment? First, chemical suppression reduces the intensity of the feelings — and from that state the perspective is then changed. That is also a shifting. For me the question is only in the how.
Since I am personally affected and know both paths, I would always give the recommendation to open yourself to the unimaginable. The speed with which something stabilises is worth that label many times over. Within a harmonious, healthy framework, much of what weighs as fears and burdens, as feelings of loneliness and rejection, can be changed through this.
Because in the end there is no way around the fact that all is one. Whether we understand that now — or only when we have completed this life — makes no difference to me.
If you would like to go deeper into these themes, you will find regular live formats on my YouTube channel where I speak about exactly this.
Joy in the Light as a habit — the path there
Over time this shift becomes a habit. Though that sounds simpler than it is. This is consciousness work at a level that requires endurance. A will that rises again and again. It is a continuous stepping out of the space of the past — out of everything that has inscribed itself, that weighs heavily, that feels familiar — and into the new space of light. And this step wants to be taken fresh every day.
I find it an imposition, how many coaches minimise this. As if it simply happened by itself, as if nothing needed to be done for it. Far from it. It takes awareness. It takes the willingness to remember again and again — especially when the body resists, time presses and the resistance is louder than everything else.
What this can look like in accompaniment — and what moves through it — I write about regularly in the blog. Last week we devoted ourselves to the original yes to life — to what remains when the struggle for survival is allowed to shift. If you would like to read that, you will find it there.
If something in you responds to these words — a first conversation is here, at no cost, entirely in your own time.
This week on Instagram and Facebook the posts around Joy in the Light have been my companions — You are already the light, the light figure and the light that belongs to everyone.
Next week we go one step further: Strengthening light, raising energy — and what it means when from this the experience arises that everything has already happened. Joy in the now, even when the body hurts and time presses.
Until then — I wish you moments in which the light swallows the resistance.
