Inner Healing Through Rest and Reflection at the Year’s End

In the Christmas week—a time often shaped by joy and togetherness—I want to highlight an important aspect: the strain we feel in relationships and through interactions with others does not always arise from their actions or words. More often, it is our own triggers and thoughts that make us feel emotionally hurt or overwhelmed. The helplessness we feel when we react can significantly disturb our inner calm. Inner healing through rest and reflection at the year end means opening a quiet space for awareness.
We all know those moments when certain words or behaviors touch us deeply and tear open old wounds. It is easy to believe that responsibility for our emotions lies with others. In truth, it is our own sensitivity and memories of past hurts that elicit the reaction. Often we are not even aware of these mechanisms and instead sense ourselves sliding into a downward emotional spiral. This is why inner healing through rest and reflection at the year end supports a return to clarity and inner stability.
In my practical work I developed the energetic trash can to meet these challenges. Imagine a container made of golden and silver light. Into this container I place the words and emotions that trigger and burden me. By symbolically putting the heavy words and thoughts into this container, I allow myself to let them go and to transform them into light and energy.
The energies that affect us often have little to do with us personally. They are expressions of general situations in the world and of the overload of those who speak the words. When we recognize this, we can take a step back and see that emotional triggers are not always our responsibility. This gives us the strength to respond more calmly in demanding moments.
The process of inner healing often asks us to build a deeper connection with ourselves. Quiet moments of reflection help us notice which thought patterns are active and how they shape our perception. When we accept triggers and their emotions without being overwhelmed by them, we create space for healing and growth. In this way, inner healing through rest and reflection at the year end becomes a steady practice for alignment and balance.
This reflection at the year end allows us not only to step back from outer circumstances but also to gain a clear view of our inner processes. As we learn to meet challenges in a peaceful way, we become more resilient for the future.
In the next blog article we will explore Regeneration and reflection: how to create space for healing. Together we will find ways to close the year in a healing way and make room for new, positive energies in the coming year. I look forward to continuing this journey with you.
